Development and Climate Days

Logo for D&C Days 2019, strapline reads Global ambition, Local action, Climate resistance for all #DCdays19

We are sad to hear the news that Chile is unable to host the upcoming COP25. For those planning to attend Development and Climate Days 2019 we'll be in touch when we know more.

D&C Days 2019 will take place on 7-8 December 2019 in Santiago, Chile, during the middle weekend of the UN climate talks, and look ahead to 2020 when countries report on how they intend to meet their commitments under the Paris Agreement.

We will explore the ambitious plans and transformational systems that are needed to deliver climate resilience for all, and highlight thinking from sectors ranging from food and agriculture to finance, cities, infrastructure and biodiversity.

Innovative approaches

At D&C Days we share learning experience by engaging and being productive through a dynamic format that encourages dialogue on issues that link policy, knowledge and practice.

Our innovative approaches encourage participants to interact, challenge existing thinking, and generate new ideas to ensure no one is left behind.

So we welcome everyone at the front line of sustainable development and climate to join us at the 17th annual D&C Days, including practitioners, NGOs, representatives of grass-roots organizations, and policy-makers at all levels.

Five themes

D&C Days will carry forward conversations from the all-day Building a Resilient Future event at the September UN Climate Action Summit, and encompass five themes:

  1. Building resilient food and agriculture systems
  2. Early warning early action to leave no one behind
  3. Financing a resilient future
  4. Establishing resilient cities, infrastructure and energy systems
  5. Working with nature to build resilience.

Within each theme, we will tackle big questions, seek effective and practical answers, and work together on fair solutions that leave no one behind.

Throughout the event, we will consider how the transformation of systems, gender equity, lived experience and local knowledge, transparency, and downward accountability can help deliver a resilient future.
