Rodrigo Mena
Rodrigo leads the Climate Centre’s work on climate and conflict. He has over twenty years of experience spanning humanitarian practice, research, and policy, working on disaster risk reduction, climate adaptation, and humanitarian action in contexts of fragility, conflict, and violence. He holds a PhD specialising in disaster governance in conflict-affected settings and an MA in Environmental Studies.

Camila Arretche
Camila is a technical adviser at the Climate and Conflict team. She is an architect with an MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management. With a creative lens, she focuses on understanding and visualizing the complex risks emerging at the intersection of climate and conflict, using tools such as geospatial analysis, storytelling, causal mapping, and the development of interactive tools.
Tesse de Boer
Tesse is a technical advisor at the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre, focusing on climate integration in humanitarian action in fragile and conflict-affected settings. She coordinates climate integration at the ICRC and brings a multidisciplinary academic background in medicine, water management, and climate science.
Sarah Gale
Sarah is a Technical Adviser working at the intersection of climate change and armed conflict, focusing on various thematics including protection and climate, as well as climate security and peacebuilding. She also coordinates the Climate Centre’s operational support to the ICRC. She has worked in complex humanitarian contexts and holds an LLM in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
Marcel Goyoneche
Marcel is a Technical Adviser working on climate and conflict, with a focus on protection. At the Climate Centre he is mainly involved with capacity building. Marcel has worked with the Chilean Red Cross, the IFRC and the ICRC. He also does consulting for other clients, mainly UN agencies.
Michaela Korodimou
Mikki is a Technical Adviser who works across a number of teams. She holds a PhD in Climate Change and Human Mobility and uses her skills as a researcher, educator and practitioner to support people in reorienting themselves to the realities of a quickly changing world.
Renate Meyer
Renate works with the Conflict and Climate team as a Technical adviser. She has a Masters in Public and Environmental Health, and over 15 years of work experience in research at the intersection of memory/lived experience, displacement and rights based adaptation approaches. Renate is also the Focal Point for Southern Africa.
Juliane Schillinger
Juliane Schillinger is a Technical Advisor with the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre. She has a strong transdisciplinary research background, focusing on climate, natural resource management and disaster risk reduction in conflict settings. Juliane holds a PhD on water management and conflict from the University of Twente, and is a visiting researcher to the University of Twente’s Climate Centre[..]
Cornelia Scholz
Cornelia is a GIS Technical Adviser with a focus on addressing complex challenges arising from the intersection of climate change and conflict. She has been supporting Climate Centre’s projects with open mapping and geospatial analysis.
