Heat action

An IFRC-Climate Centre flagship report gathers in one place the latest science, research on the perception of risk, and voices from communities affected by heat that is being intensified by climate change. Heatwaves disrupt health, weaken social systems and trigger cascading failures in water, food and electrical and transport infrastructure; in Iraq (2022 library photo at left) and elsewhere, studies have detected climate fingerprints on multiplying dust storms. The new report includes vital public health messaging on heat exhaustion, heatstroke and sunstroke.
